Founded in Austin, TX, Shamballah Home and Gardens is a landscape design and installation firm dedicated to blending principles of science and spirituality to guide homeowners and businesses in becoming conscious stewards of the land.
Our mission is to raise the vibration of society by cultivating spaces that express unity, love, beauty, and harmony between people and the planet. We empower individuals to nurture their environments, fostering both personal and planetary transformation.
We believe we need to be the change we wish to see in the world. Our vision is to create a world where every home and business is a living testament to the values of sustainability and stewardship.

Meet the Founder
Dr. E. Jane Bradbury, Ph.D.
President, Lead Botanist, & Designer
Dr. Jane Bradbury is an entrepreneur, mother, botanist, educator, and hermetic scientist. She received her doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Botany Department in 2014, specializing in ethnobotanical relationships between humans and landscapes. She designed her first professional installation in 2008 while in graduate school.
Her professional experience includes scientific capacity-building in under-served populations, work as a postdoctoral research scientist at Emory University, serving as Collection Manager at two different Herbaria, and over 15 years of teaching and outreach experience at the University of South Carolina, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Emory University, the University of Texas at Austin, and their surrounding communities and elementary schools.
After becoming dissatisfied with Western science as the only avenue for exploring the mysteries of life, Dr. Jane began rigorously studying metaphysics and the Hermetic sciences, which in turn gave her deeper understanding of the natural world around us.
Experiencing the unity of metaphysics and biology inspired in Dr. Jane a strong passion for merging scientific and spiritual perspectives. This combination of passions, combined with her frustrations at the landscaping choices made by large-scale city developers and the “mow and blow” landscaping industry, fueled Dr. Jane to become a landscape designer, co-founding Shamballah Home and Gardens to provide Austin, TX clients with an opportunity to choose a more aligned option for their land. She is currently a member of the International Society of Arboriculture.
Dr. Jane currently lives in Austin with her two daughters, dog, cat, guinea pigs, and garden.
Our Process

2. Complete survey
Next, you’ll complete a short survey that helps us better understand your property, lifestyle, and preferences. These details ensure our design process is tailored to you from the very beginning.
3. Schedule site visit
We’ll visit your property to assess soil, sun exposure, microclimates, and existing features. This hands-on evaluation allows us to create a plan that is both beautiful and ecologically responsive.
4. Review concept board
Finally, you’ll review a personalized concept board that illustrates the design vision for your space. This step brings ideas to life and gives you the chance to refine the direction before moving into installation.
5. Submit design deposit
Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll submit a design deposit to secure your place in our project schedule. This allows us to begin the detailed design work tailored specifically to your property.
6. Review full design & project proposal
You’ll receive a comprehensive design and project proposal that outlines the vision, plant selections, materials, and scope of work. Together, we’ll review the details to ensure everything aligns with your goals and budget.
7. Sign contract
After any refinements, you’ll sign the contract to officially launch the project. This step ensures transparency, clarity, and confidence as we move toward installation.
8. Watch us execute
With the plan in place, our team brings your landscape to life—handling every detail from start to finish. All you need to do is watch as your property transforms into a thriving, sustainable space.
